The Embassy Hosts Tour Operators' Seminar

The Embassy hosted a Tour Operators' Seminar on 28th February 2018 at the Chancery organized by Mr. Shotaro Ogata of UTI Japan Co., Ltd. and the Embassy's Counselor, Mr. Michael Katungye to promote Uganda tourism. The seminar was attended by ten (10) Tour Operators who recognize Uganda's tourism potential.

H.E. the Ambassador Betty Grace Akech Okullo welcomed the Tour Operators back from their familiarization tour of Uganda and emphasised to the group why Uganda is the best tourist destination for Japanese tourists. She also invited the Tour Operators to prepare Uganda tour packages. Mr. Ogata made a presentation on Uganda through data and photos of the country's beautiful touristic spots. Each Tour Operator was also given chance to talk regarding Uganda's potential as part of their tour packages. Mr. Samuel Mugisha of BIC Tours in Uganda also participated through a video conference call. After the seminar, the group was offered Ugandan snacks which consist of dried pineapples and bananas, chocolate, coffee, tea and waragi.

The Embassy and the organizers are looking forward to hold more tourism seminars in the future for targeted group of tour operators.
